Important Guidelines for CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2027

Students should follow the instructions issued by CBSE and their respective schools to avoid problems on examination days.

1. Carry Your Admit Card

The CBSE admit card is an essential document for entering the examination centre. Students should carry the required admit card and follow the instructions printed on it.

2. Reach the Examination Centre on Time

Plan your journey in advance and reach the examination centre according to the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Avoid last-minute delays.

3. Follow the Examination Instructions

Read the instructions provided by CBSE and the examination centre carefully. Follow the invigilator's directions throughout the examination.

4. Do Not Carry Communication Devices

CBSE's official date sheet states that communication devices are not allowed inside the examination centre. Students should avoid carrying mobile phones, smartwatches or other prohibited electronic devices.

5. Check Subject Codes Carefully

Students should verify the subject name and code on their admit cards against the official timetable. This is especially important for subjects that have different course options, such as Mathematics Basic and Mathematics Standard or English Communicative and English Language and Literature.

6. Follow the Reporting and Entry Rules

Students should follow the entry instructions and permitted materials listed on their admit cards. Do not assume that arriving at the examination centre after the reporting time will be allowed.

7. Keep Your Stationery Ready

Arrange permitted stationery and other required materials before the examination day. Follow the examination-centre rules regarding what can be carried into the hall.

Why Did CBSE Release the Date Sheet Early?

CBSE released the 2027 date sheet 101 days before the examinations to give students, schools and teachers sufficient time to plan.

According to the Board's official notice, the timetable was prepared after considering several factors:

• Adequate gaps between commonly chosen subject examinations.

• Tentative schedules of major entrance examinations.

• The number of candidates appearing at individual examination centres.

• The need to reduce prolonged absence of teachers from schools during evaluation.

• More than 40,000 subject combinations to avoid examination clashes.

CBSE also stated that the early release would help students organise their preparation and allow schools to plan academic activities more effectively.
