A few private universities still fill vacant or spot-round seats in October, so it is worth one call before you give up. For most students the realistic next step is BTech admission 2027, where private-university applications typically open between November 2026 and January 2027.
There was no single national deadline. JoSAA and CSAB rounds ended by August 2026, and most private colleges accepted BTech applications until seats filled in August–September. For 2027, applying by June gives the widest choice of branch, campus and scholarship.
Government colleges through JEE Main and JoSAA have the lowest fees (about ₹1–2 Lakh total). Among private options, state-level private colleges start near ₹1.2 Lakh per year, and merit scholarships on JEE score or 12th marks cut 10–50% more.
