NIT Hamirpur: Courses, Fees, Admission, Cutoff & Placements

The institute offers B.Tech programmes in areas such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Mathematics & Scientific Computing. NIT Hamirpur also offers B.Arch along with postgraduate and dual-degree programmes. Its official academic resources provide course structures and syllabi for the bachelor's programmes.

For B.Tech and B.Arch programmes, admission is conducted through JEE Main followed by JoSAA or CSAB counselling. The institute states that M.Tech and related postgraduate admissions use CCMT/CCMN routes, while MBA admissions follow the applicable institute and national-level admission process. Students targeting NIT Hamirpur should therefore check their JEE Main rank, category, home-state eligibility and previous closing ranks before preparing their JoSAA choice list.

NIT Hamirpur fees depend on the programme, category and academic year. The institute maintains a dedicated fee-structure section and publishes admission-specific payment instructions for B.Tech, B.Arch and dual-degree students. The latest fee notification should be checked before admission because the payable amount can change between academic sessions.

The CollegeForMe page currently reports ₹10.6 LPA as the average package and ₹58 LPA as the highest package, with a 91.92% placement rate. NIT Hamirpur's official Training and Placement Office reports the same 91.92% placement index and ₹10.61 LPA average package for the 2024–25 session. The official placement records also show branch-level outcomes, giving students a better picture than looking at only the highest package.

NIT Hamirpur combines an NIT-level engineering environment with a residential campus, multiple technical disciplines and an established placement system. Its location in Himachal Pradesh, range of engineering branches, dual-degree options and active training and placement activities make it relevant for students comparing NITs through JEE Main counselling.
