NIT Puducherry: Courses, Fees, Admission, Cutoff & Placements

For students seeking admission to B.Tech courses, JEE Main is the primary entrance examination. Qualified candidates participate in JoSAA counselling, with CSAB rounds providing additional seat-allocation opportunities where applicable. Admission depends on the candidate's rank, category, seat availability, and counselling preferences, along with the academic eligibility conditions prescribed for the relevant year. Students should carefully review the counselling schedule and document requirements before selecting their preferred programmes.

The financial planning for an engineering degree involves more than tuition fees. Students should account for academic charges, hostel accommodation, mess expenses, examination fees and other applicable payments while estimating the total cost of attendance. The fee structure may also differ according to the programme and the student's eligibility for applicable concessions or financial assistance. The fee details currently displayed on this page list B.Tech tuition at ₹1,25,000 per year, with additional charges shown separately. Students should check the latest official fee notice to confirm the amount payable for their admission session, particularly where hostel, mess and one-time charges are concerned. Reviewing the complete fee schedule before accepting a seat can help families plan their expenses with greater clarity.

NIT Puducherry's campus is located in Thiruvettakudy, Karaikal, a coastal region that offers a setting distinct from large metropolitan education hubs. The institute's permanent campus spans approximately 258 acres and brings together academic departments, laboratories, student facilities and residential spaces. Its campus environment supports both formal instruction and the day-to-day activities that shape a student's college experience. Students can make use of library resources, computing facilities, hostels and spaces for sports and other activities. Technical events, collaborative projects and student initiatives provide opportunities to interact with peers and develop skills beyond the syllabus. These experiences can contribute to personal growth while helping students build confidence, independence and teamwork abilities.
