Medical Electronics (also offered as Biomedical Engineering or Electronics & Instrumentation with a medical focus) is a 4-year B.Tech and 2-year M.Tech branch combining electronics, signal processing, and physiology to design diagnostic and therapeutic devices such as ECG and EEG systems, patient monitors, imaging equipment, ventilators, and implantable devices. Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Main and state CETs; M.Tech admission uses GATE. Institutions offering the branch include MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Bangalore, VIT Vellore, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Manipal Institute of Technology, and several NITs and state universities. Annual tuition ranges from ₹60,000 at government institutes to ₹3–5 lakh at private universities.
